An experimental and numerical investigation of cushioning mechanism of mould pulp structure

摘要
Based on structural type of moulded pulp and loading speed, as well as material property of paper pulp, the structural cushioning mechanism was used to optimize the structural design of moulded pulp. The cushion course of moulded pulp is designed by utilizing the energy absorption in the process of these protrusions' deformation. In addition to the experimental test of mould pulp samples, FEM simulating investigation is also carried out by using the protrusions similar to those testing results. According to the numerical simulating investigation, the result shows the relationship between stresses of mould pulp with structure parameters, such as the thickness, the length of side-wall bearing load, the number and relative position of the protrusions etc.
