摘要
The effect of swirl upon the Rayleigh-Taylor instability of annular porous layers is studied theoretically and compared with previous published results. The two viscous fluid layers system in coaxial porous cylinders is considered and heat as well as mass is transferring at the interface. The inner cylinder is fixed while the outer cylinder is rotating anticlock-wise with a constant speed. The viscous potential theory is enforced to cover the viscosity effects at the interface. The criterion for stable perturbations is given in terms of critical wave number. We observe that a wave mode's growth rate is reduced in the presence of swirl. Additionally, we show that the unstable axisymmetric wave modes are stabilized by allowing heat transfer at the interface.
