摘要
Introduction The in vitro fertilization procedure has several stages, and the first one is ovarian stimulation. We try to stimulate the ovaries through a specific drug therapy so that they produce more follicles in order to get more eggs. Monitoring of the number and growth of follicles during treatment is done by transvaginal ultrasound and by hormonal tests in the blood. These analyzes allow the determination of the optimal moment for the harvesting of oocytes. Material and methods: Results and discussion The combination of drugs for the production and maturation of follicles, so-called synthetic gonadotropins, as well as their dosage or type of therapy are adapted and individualized according to the age of the patient, the reaction of her ovaries, and the needs of each couple. The statistical processing was made using the Epi Info program and the Microsoft Excel program. Conclusions The in vitro fertilization procedure has several stages, and the first one is ovarian stimulation.
