Lessons learned in configuring and using the NEXRAD (WSR-88D) radar for detection of tropical cyclone induced tornadoes (TCIT)

摘要：
This study provides lessons learned from systematic radar analysis of tornadoes spawned from Hurricane Allison in early June 1995, and Tropical Storm Josephine in October 1996. The structure of these storms, and event lessons learned from this event, form a solid basis from which to aide in identification of suspect cells, improve future TCIT forecasts, and improve criteria for tornado warnings in tropical cyclones and hurricanes.
