Numerical investigation of baffle-plate effect on hood-capture flow

摘要
The effect of a passive control method on the hood-capture flow were investigated numerically. In order to overcome the negative effects of cross draft on the hood performance, a flange and a baffleplate were used to improve the hood-capture flow. Numerical simulations were performed to investigated the changes of the hood flow induced by the flange and the baffle plate. When the velocity ratio of a crossflow to suction R is fixed, an increased aspect ratio l/b would enlarge the capture zone.
