Cognition and Practice of Teaching Reform of Actuarial Science of Insurance

The teaching of actuarial science was introduced to China over 20 years ago. But only a few people came to understand this subject in no more than 10 years. The rapid economic development in China in the recent 20 years resulted in heavy demand of talents in this field. Some universities started teaching of related actuarial courses. Drawing the experience of teaching these courses, this paper elaborates on the topic of reform of teaching methodology and content dealing so as to improve the quality of classroom teaching. The discussions and opinions summarized in this paper are of reference to enhance management of teaching of Actuarial Science of Insurance and to improve the quality of classroom teaching of these courses.
