摘要
The influence of processing conditions and material properties on the morphology and impact properties of rotationally moulded polyethylene is examined in this paper. Two linear low density (LLDPE) and two medium density (MDPE) polyethylenes are tested. Part crystallinity and spherulite size appear to have little effect on the impact properties of the mouldings. One of the medium density polyethylenes exhibits a dramatic decline in -20 degrees C impact strength at an internal mould air temperature of 230 degrees C, while all other materials tested appear to be increasing in impact strength over the range of processing conditions investigated.
