ANALYSIS OF THE EFFICIENCY IN THE USE OF RESOURCES OF COMPANIES IN THE INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURING SECTOR IN ECUADOR

The industry (in any of its classifications) occupies a significant place in the growth of the Ecuadorian economy, being the second largest contribution to national wealth. The present investigation aims to discover what has been the degree of efficiency of this productive sector, a calculation made with the measurement of the results analyzed in a span of ten years. The analysis parameters were 3 accounts from financial statements declared by the companies studied, plus a financial ratio calculated from the same states. Efficiency was measured with the non-parametric method known as DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) tool that works with the application of multiple variables known as inputs and outputs, and which seeks to determine which units are analyzed that generate the greatest number of outputs with the lowest number of income or use of resources.
