VETERINARIAN TODAY AND VETERINARIAN TOMORROW

The objective and detailed analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities of small animal practice confirms the inevitability of the trend towards mergers. Looking at what is happening on the other side of the Channel and on the other side of the Atlantic provides useful information on future opportunities for such mergers, based on mutual benefit, or on partial or total capital integration. Similarly to what was developed in neighbouring countries or in human medicine in France, three types of networks are possible: concentration (central structure/satellites practices), rationalization (circular correspondence between satellites practices), and expansion (franchising, joint venture, financial integration).
