摘要
This article concerns itself with the question, in how far the discrimination of Romany in their educational environment is responsible for their persistent educational disadvantages in Romania, based on the author's dissertational project. In this context, first results are introduced, stemming from the author's research, conducted in Romania, the country with the largest Romany population in Europe, spanning the years from 2016 to 2019. Initially, this article phrases the entitlement to the right to education, coining from a human rights perspective, and introduces the concepts of everyday-racism and experienced racism, before these concepts are applied to the results of the aforementioned research. Without having analyzed the collected data in its entirety, the persistent discrimination of Roma people in the Romanian educational environment presents itself as evident, while attributions, prejudice and resentments are omnipresent in everyone's mind - even with those responsible in the educational system - and they endure, although there is a certain awareness for the subject at the schools.
