Linear polydicyclopentadiene - A material having high technical characteristics .1.

The chemical structure of dicyclopentadiene monomer, resulted from the C-5 cut processing - using the C-5 separated from the pyrolisis gasolene - is presented with a review of its physical properties. The dicyclopentadiene polymerization reaction kinetics is presented. By using the experimental data in the mathematical model of the batch reactor employed, the rate constant and reaction order could be determined, theses being necessary to establish the reaction rate expression. The results of the polydicyclopentadiene characterization by NMR are presented, as well as some physico-chemical properties of this polymer.
