摘要
The oxidation of n-valeraldeyde to n-valeric acid by quinolinium dichromate proceeds smoothly in aqueous acidic medium. A kinetic isotope effect of 5.80 showed that the cleavage of the carbon-hydrogen bond was the rate-determining step of the reaction.
