Application of a Novel Structured Catalyst Packing in Esterification Reactions

摘要
In order to prepare a novel structured catalyst packing for catalytic distillation, MoO3/Al2O3-Al solid acid catalyst packing was prepared by supporting MoO3 onto a thin alumina film that had been formed by anodic oxidation of high purity aluminium foils. It was used as catalyst to synthesize ethyl acetate. The optimum synthesis conditions were investigated. The reaction time was 8. 0 h at reflux temperature. The molar ratio of the acid and alcohol was 0.3 : 1. The mass of the catalyst was 4.0 % of acetic acid. The conversion rate of acetic acid could reach 80%, and the selectivity for the esterification was 100 %. The catalyst can be reused directly for 5 times.
