Outreach Surgical Center Program Lima: A 15 years experience in Peru

Introduction This is a retrospective study of the Outreach Surgical Center Program Lima experience in the cleft lip and palate management during 15 years in Pen. This is a local in team supported by foreign foundations as INTER-PLAST and SMILE TRAIN. Our objectives include research and education for local doctors. Methods This is a Descriptive outcome study level 1. We have operated 1478 cleft patients since 1994 to 2009 under our protocol. The surgical attention is done in relation with cleft severity based in our cleft lip and palate severity's classification Results We have observed a 14.34 % of bad results in unilateral cleft lip cases and 22.40 % of bad results in bilateral cleft lip cases. In cleft palate cases. we have had a 13.75 % of palatal fistulas and 22.92 % of velopharyngeal insufficiency
