摘要：
The complete nucleotide sequence of Sugarcane mosaic potyvirus strain A (SCMV-A) has been determined (EMBL accession number AJ278405). The viral genome is 9573 nt long and contains an open reading frame encoding 3065 amino acids, flanked by 5' and 3' untranslated regions of 147 and 230 nucleotides, respectively. Phylogenetic analysis indicates that SCMV-A is most closely related to other potyviruses that infect tropical grasses, namely Maize dwarf mosaic potyvirus (68.8%) and Johnsongrass mosaic potyvirus (55.6%).
