This paper aims to the analysis of the land, produce and farming system of the city-kingdom of Ugarit thorough its vocabulary. As a costal town it was open to a large maritime, both commercial and fishing activity, but it owned at the same time a fertile farming hinterland that shaped the scenery of the other basic activity of its economy, agriculture, as can be seen reflected in the administrative texts. This double economic activity was at the basis of its prosperity and its political and cultural development.
