摘要
In 1983 and 1993 over 1,400 school children in San Marcos, Texas, were surveyed concerning their attitudes toward geography as a school subject and as one of the social studies. Although on average the children in both years considered geography their least favorite on a List of school subjects and gave it a mediocre ranking compared to other social studies, some statistically significant improvement in the popularity of geography occurred over the decade. This research tentatively associates this increased popularity with more active learning environments.
