This section, dedicated to Paolo Boselli's life, public engagement and role as Prime Secretary of the dynastic Ordine Mauriziano, appears this year, celebrating one hundred years of continuous use by scholars, students and archivists of his capital book entitled L'Ordine Mauriziano, published in Turin in 1917. The celebration is the pretext to reanalyse the importance of this public personality in different aspects of social life from the second half of the XIX century to 1930. During his very long life, in fact, Boselli was one of the interpreters of Savoy's policies and surely a wise administrator. Four contributions try to deline his capital provision and legacy to culture and society: Cristina Scalon, in her essay, retraces the passage from civil public engagement to the fundamental role as Prime Secretary for the Ordine Mauriziano; Enrica Bodrato and Margherita Bongiovanni discuss in a card his relevance, as good administrator, in promoting the foundation of the Politecnico di Torino, while Enzo Ferraro again in a card explores the rhetoric of his public celebrations promoted by Turin's Municipality immediately after his death. Finally Chiara Devoti retraces origines and structure of his capital book devoted to the exploration of properties, legacy and administration inside of the so rich and relevant Ordine Mauriziano.
