摘要
Poverty is one of the emerging issue faced by developing countries for a long time and the role of forest plantation and tourism development in reducing the poverty level cannot be denied. This study takes into account the role of forest plantation and tourism in reducing poverty in the case of Asian countries which has gained little attention in empirical research. For this end, data of four Asian countries have been selected for the period 1995-2016. The role of forest plantation and tourism in poverty reduction has been tested using Panel co-integration techniques and the results show that forest plantation and tourism receipts significantly contribute to poverty reduction in the sampled countries. This study recommends that Asian countries should give due attention to forest plantation and tourism to escape from poverty.
