Enantiospecific bioanalysis: Techniques and applications

Enantiospecific analysis has a significant role in modern drug development and particularly in DMPK investigations. Chromatographic techniques involving the use of homochiral derivatizing agents or chiral stationary phases, represent the most commonly used approaches. However, with advances in detector sensitivity CE is likely to play an increasingly significant role in enantiospecific bioanalysis. The advantages and limitations of the various methodologies are discussed and illustrated with examples drawn from our laboratory.
