OPTIMIZING THE WINGLET MODEL IN GETTING THE MAXIMUM POWER PRESSURE USING COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMIC (CFD)

摘要
In the past, the wind tunnel is often used to test the performance of a component of aerodynamics. The number of components that used in these tests such as motion sensors, strain gauges and other measuring instruments, causing the cost of testing becomes very expensive. With the current technological developments, lots of software that can be used to test the performance of a component of aerodynamics. This research was conducted to provide solutions to the expensive cost of performance testing a component of aerodynamics. With the solid work software using, we can test the performance of a winglet model by way of creating a simulation of air flow through it, for more effective and efficient. In the study described the relationship between model winglet with angle of attack of 10 degrees, 15 degrees and 20 degrees. The results of this research show that the values obtained at the maximum press style model winglet type 2 registration-164.66 N at an angle of attack of 20 degrees. This research is expected to provide knowledge and guidance on installation of winglet on motorcycles.
