摘要
The effects of several technological parameters on the degree of sulfur removal in oxygen converters and the success in attaining the desired final sulfur content in steel were discussed. A technology was developed for making steel in converters from desulfurized low-silicon, low-manganese pig iron. The technology involves repeated (3-5 times) use of the final slag in converter steel-making (cyclic slag formation) with a partial addition of fresh lime. The results show that the technology for obtaining a standard semifinished product significantly increases the efficiency of the processes used in the ladle metallurgy and makes it possible to obtain quality steel of any composition, regardless of its complexity.
