Rigid and sterically congested spirocompounds 1, derived from arylmethyleneisoxazol-5-ones and in situ prepared pyridinium ylides, induced complete diastereofacial selection in site and regiospecific cycloaddition reactions with nitrile oxides. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
