摘要
The article considers certian aspects of knowledge economy and the tasks for higher education concerning the provision of high quality business education. In particular, peculiarities of knowledge economy are analyzed. The necessity and importance of the concept of life-long education for knowledge "production" is emphasized. Basing on the analysis of knowledge market in Latvia the author offers a number of principles providing the necessary quality of educating the professionals for work under conditions of knowledge economy. The concept of quality management in a higher education institution is presented, it includes external and internal systems of quality management. A range of questions concerning the marketing of educational programmes at a university is considered. Competitive advantages of higher education oriented onto knowledge economy are formulated.
