摘要
The efficiency of thermoluminescent detectors (TLD) to heavy charged particles strongly depends on the atomic number and energy. Therefore in a mixed particle field absolute dosimetry depends strongly on the knowledge of the efficiency. We developed a model to calculate the efficiency as a function of projectile atomic number and energy. Using this efficiency tables the detector signal at any position of a mixed heavy ion radiation held can be calculated. The 3-dimensional dose distribution then can be verified by a comparison of the calculated and measured detector signal. Experiments using a C-12 beam are presented. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
