摘要
This article investigated PISA as an instrument for the analysis of science education in the international and national context, with an emphasis on curriculum guidelines related to environmental health. Using the Integrative Literature Review method, educational strategies and environmental health were evaluated in the curricula of five countries with the best performance in PISA in 2018, and Brazil. It was possible to verify that the countries well positioned in PISA bring in their curricula a relationship with environmental health, however, the quality of teacher training, qualified continuing education, career enhancement policies and the modernization and investment in new technologies also interfere these results. It can also be inferred that the cultural, economic, social and political issues of each country are factors that need to be considered and that, Brazil needs to invest in these issues to improve education, and consequently, its position in the world ranking in PISA.
