Stratiomicrodon, gen. n., is proposed for Stratiomys convexa Wulp, from Argentina. The new genus differs from Stratiomys in the following characters : head narrower than thorax and prominent in profile; antennal flagellum with four flagellomeres; scutellar spines approximated and placed in the median third of the posterior border of the scutellum.
