The influence of dielectric characteristics of suspensions of nanosize barium, barium-strontium, and barium-calcium acetate titanyls in polydimethyl siloxane on the electrorheological effect

摘要
The electrorheological effect is studied in electrorheological fluids (ERFs) based on PMS-20 silicone oil with fillers of nanopowders of BaTiO(CH(3)COO)(4), Ba(0.9)Sr(0.1)TiO(CH(3)COO)(4), and Ba(0.9)Ca(0.1)TiO(CH(3)COO)(4) salts obtained using the sol gel technique. The shearing force of ERFs containing these salts as dependent on the strength of dc and ac electric fields is measured. Significant changes in the viscoplastic properties of suspensions under the effect of electric fields are different and depend on the filler type, strength, and frequency of the field applied. Dielectric spectra, the effect of electric field on dielectric permeability, the tangent of losses, and the voltammetric characteristics of suspensions are studied. A correlation is shown between the dielectric and physicomechanical characteristics of ERFs under external electric fields.
