The Pa-231 and Pa-231 neutron-induced fission cross-section database is analyzed within the Hauser-Feshbach approach. The consistency of neutron-induced fission cross-section data and data extracted from transfer reactions is investigated. The fission probabilities of Pa, fissioning in Pa-231,Pa-233(n,nf) reactions, are defined by fitting (He-3,d) or (He-3,t) transfer-reaction data. The present estimate of the Pa-233(n,f) fission cross section above the emissive fission threshold is supported by smooth level-density parameter systematics, validated in the case of the Pa-231(n,f) data description up to E-n = 20 MeV.
