Determining formation shear wave transverse isotropy jointly from borehole Stoneley- and flexural-wave data

摘要
It has been playing an increasing important role in the exploration and production of shale resources that how to evaluate seismic wave anisotropy using borehole measurements. We have developed a joint inversion method for multipole acoustic data processing to simultaneously determine formation shear wave transverse isotropy and vertical shear wave velocity (or C-44 and C-66). By jointly combining the Stoneley and flexural wave dispersion data of different frequency band, we finally improve accuracy of the inversion. Meanwhile, this study presents a multipole calibrating method of the tool compliance to eliminate the influence of acoustic logging tool. Further, the new technique was tested on synthetic waveform data and the field acoustic logging data. This study presents an effective technology for obtaining formation shear wave anisotropy.
