Experimental study on mechanical behavior of exposed-type square CFT column base with built-in reinforcing bars

摘要
In this study, a new type of column base: exposed-type square Concrete Filled steel Tubular (CFT) column base with built-in reinforcing bars, is proposed. The bending behaviors of the column bases are investigated by the cyclic loading tests under a constant vertical load. From the tests it is revealed that the built-in reinforcing bars are effective in order to increase the performances of the column bases, and the column bases are sufficiently stable until 5.0% of rotational angle of the column base. Also the calculation method of the ultimate bending strength of the column base is considered to be valid.
