Creative Approach to Teaching English as a Foreign Language

The article highlights possibility of using popular and traditional American songs in the language classroom. Using songs does not mean only their singing. This method proves to be successful in teaching English as a foreign language for students of any level: from secondary school to universities. For English learners who have chosen language to be their profession it can be used in teaching practical disciplines, like grammar and phonetics, but also in teaching theoretical subjects, like lexicology, stylistics, etc. Any activity connected with songs use in educational process contributes to students' creative development and thus has educative value.
