摘要
The current state of practice for large-diameter bored piles (LDBPs) in the United States is discussed, from the perspective of the writer, and several briefcase studies are examined. The use of LDBPs is increasing in the United States primarily because of educational efforts and demands for foundations that are scour-resistant, adaptable to over-water construction and economically advantageous in restricted construction areas.
