摘要
The effect of the nutrient solution concentration on yield and quality was studied on two cultivar of radish (Raphanus sativus L.), 'Girox' and 'Suprelia', grown in a floating system. Three consecutive growing cycles, were carried out in an unheated greenhouse at the experimental farm of University of Tuscia (Central Italy) during the spring-summer season 2005. A plant density of 720 plants/m(2) and a nutrient solution at three different nutrient concentrations (full strength solution, 3/4 and 1/2 of full strength) were tested. At harvest, the following parameters were measured: yield (fresh weight and number of hypocotyls), fresh and dry weight of leaves and hypocotyls, size of hypocotyls and distribution of size classes. The results showed that the nutrient solution at 3/4 and 1/2 of full strength solution gave the best yield during spring and summer, respectively.
