On the Integration of Scientific and Technological Enterprises in Overseas Merger and Acquisition under the Ambidextrous Strategy

With increasingly more Chinese companies undertaking international strategy and the implementation of "the Belt and Road" strategy, overseas M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions), has become an effective way to promote the performance of technological enterprises. Up to now, there are many studies on overseas M&A and ambidextrous strategy. But these studies are lack of innovation and fail to explain the mechanism in which technological enterprises interact with each other. The similarities between the countries of merging technological enterprises have an influence on their performance; and the influence is determined by the company's strategy. When a company adopts a developing strategy, the similarities would play a positive role on the performance of the company. When a company adopts the exploring strategy, the similarities would play a negative role on the performance of the company. Under certain conditions, the effective integration of the ambidextrous similarities of M&A companies and the overseas M&A of technological enterprises can have positive effect on the companies' performance. This paper enriches the ambidextrous strategy theory and has reference value on overseas M&A of technological enterprises.
