Proteins are tightly bound with transcribed regions of human ribosomal genes

摘要
Proteins tightly bound with DNA and protecting it from endonucleases were revealed in the transcribed regions of human ribosomal genes. In complex with rDNA, their DNA-binding domains cannot be hydrolyzed with proteinase K even under denaturing conditions. The complexes remain stable in the presence of detergents and under high ionic strength. Tightly bound proteins were detected in several DNA regions along the entire transcribed sequence of some ribosomal gene copies in all tested individuals; their presence showed no tissue specificity.
