摘要
The debate between creationism and evolution remains vigorous after 80 years. The philosophical arguments against creationism have changed little but they now confront a more nimble opponent - Intelligent Design (ID). This paper examines the main tenets of ID - its appeals to information theory, entropy, specified complexity and essentialism - through an extended critique of William A. Dembski's The Design Revolution. In addition, the philosophy of Wittgenstein exposes ID's inherent scientism.
