摘要
This paper surveys the state-of-the-art in hexahedral mesh generation. We review the major lines of research for algorithmic approaches to build hexahedral meshes and OF compare them in view of general criteria for mesh generation. In particular, we highlight recent approaches and advances made in this field, including methods for mesh improvement by smoothing and optimization as well as by topological changes. Selected applications are used to demonstrate the success of mesh generation methods in practice.
