摘要
Objective. To explain the characteristics of the Emperor's syndrome manifested in the children of three family cases studied in the municipal rural settlement La Suiza in the small town of San Sebastian de Palmitas, in the Department of Antioquia/Medellin. In addition, the study aims to describe these characteristics and their impact on family roles. Methodology. The study is sustained on the qualitative approach through the interpretive comprehensive paradigm using the collective case study as a research strategy. Results and Discussion. It is identified that children have several characteristics of the Emperor's syndrome, one of which is that children represent authority figures in their families. It is emphasized that families do not recognize the behavior of children as an influential factor in family relationships, but at the same time, they contradict themselves when they assume that arguments and disagreements between the couple, siblings or other family members occur due to the attitude of the child.
