On determining the characteristic impedance of low-loss transmission lines

摘要
Characteristic-inipedance (Z(0)) determination of low-loss transmission lines is very sensitive to electrical discontinuities at the end of the transmission-line test structure. A method is shown that improves the accuracy, of characteristic-impedance determination by removing the effect of inductive discontinuities due to transmission-line width variations. In the case of microstrip line, the measurement results agree to within 5% of the theoretical predictions front Wheeler's equation. (c) 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
