摘要
The optimum working surface shape of the mould for continous casting of steels is necessary to decrease the occurrence of craks below the mould. An insufficient thickness of crust is the cause of the cracks. This thin crust is caused by small heat fluxes from the strand to mould. This phenomenon occurs mostly when low carbon steel is casted in a continous casting apparatus. Besides these craks the surface quality of the strand can be imporoved using optimum working surface shape.
