摘要
Up to 2012, 420 colleges and universities in China have tourism management specialty. Multiple levels of employment and strong capacity of obtaining employment are main features of the Chinese tourist industry. However, it is important to note that undergraduate students and graduate students majored in tourism management do not constitute the main force of human resources in the Chinese tourism industry. Most of them even flow into other industries. As a result, enterprises and public institutions in the tourism industry are in urgent need of high-quality tourism management talents. The factors leading to this phenomenon come from the society, schools, families and the students themselves, while the problem that tourism majored college students do not have high sense of identity with tourism specialty should not be neglected. This paper may provide reference to promote human resource based sustainable tourism development in China.
