Stress intensity factor of semi-elliptical surface crack in a thermo-mechanically loaded cylinder with hoop wrapped FGM layer

摘要
This article focused on three dimensional fracture analyses of a pressurized cylinder with hoop wrapped functionally graded material layer, which contains a longitudinal semielliptical internal surface crack and subjected to temperature gradient. The effect of non-uniform coefficient of thermal expansion and the hoop wrapped layer thickness on the distribution of the stress intensity factor along the crack front for different crack profiles is also studied. The results, which are normalized for the advantage of non-dimensional analysis show that the hoop wrapped functionally graded material cylinder, can significantly influence on the amount and distribution of stress intensity factors along the crack front.
