摘要
Our aim is to present EOF method extended to temporal scale and to demonstrate its opportunities in reproduction of combined temporal and spatial TO variability. The method of biorthogonal decomposition was proposed in order to reach this aim. Numerical algorithm of its realization is discussed as well as formulas for representation of generalised EOF. Main application issues are: the dividing of the analyzed area onto a number of statistically homogeneous sub regions with respect to spatial variability and outlines for optimization of surface ground-based ozonometric networks. The analyses of TO spatial variability spectrum reveals main exremal zones for Europe and the Mediterranean.
