摘要
The aim of this study was to compare the IPCV with respect to sex, level of obesity and presence or absence of chronic diseases. The study was carried out with a sample of 400 adult residents of the Metropolitan Zone of the Toluca Valley, Estado de Mexico, Mexico, being composed mostly of women (70.7%) and with a mean age of 44 years. A personal data form and the IWQOL-Lite were used; body fat percentage was also obtained in all participants. The results indicated that the totality of the sample presented obesity. Of the sample, 37.5% reported having a medical diagnosis of some NCD, with obesity, diabetes mellitus and systemic arterial hypertension being the most prevalent diseases. Women were the ones who reported that their quality of life deteriorated the most due to their weight, as did adults with NCDs and adults with a higher percentage of body fat.
