摘要：
The paper attempts to assess the performance of the industry sector in WestBengal. The state's industrialisation experience has been analysed relative to the performance of seven other leading industrialised states for the period 1965 to 1987. A component of change analysis has been carried out for each period to determine the characteristics of industrialisation in the states.
