Al-Ni-Ti (aluminum-nickel-titanium)

The number of intermediate phases in the phase diagram of Al-Ni-Ti was analyzed using thermodynamic evaluation method. The phase equilibria was studied using optical and electron metallography, x-ray diffraction, and electron probe microanalysis. It was observed that the atom site occupancy is complex, with the occurrence of both Ti/Al and Ni/Al substitution. The results show the presence of five intermediate phases in the Al-Ni phase diagrams.
