摘要：
This paper discusses the design philosophies and key design features of the seismic retrofit of the 6 terminal area drive bridges at the Seattle Tacoma International Airport. Seismic assessment of these bridges found them to be vulnerable to collapse in the design seismic event. Unique combinations of retrofit schemes were developed that minimized traffic disruption during construction with significantly less cost than more conventional solutions.
