The effect of incorporating zirconium dioxide in TiO2 mesoporous films was investigated. Improved stability of the mesoporous structure of the synthesized TiO2/ZrO2 nanocomposites could be related to the suppression of titania crystallites growth and the formation of Ti1-xZrxO2 solid solution, as was inferred by the results of optical properties, AFM, XRD and XPS investigations.
