摘要
Dehydration of L-asparagine monohydrate has been studied under the condition of thermal stimulation the sample undergoes during Thermal Stimulating Depolarization Current (TSDC) experiment. Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) techniques have been used for these studies. It has been observed that during the heating and cooling cycle L-asparagine monohydrate undergoes an irreversible phase transition if heated to 367 K or higher temperatures and this transition is attributed to the change in structure of L-asparagine monohydrate from orthorhombic (fresh) to monoclinic (dehydrated) structure due to loss of crystal water. Therefore, for any application requiring monohydrate property there is restriction of using L-asparagine monohydrate below 367 K.
